here are NEW images below, which are up-dated frequently. WELCOME to my chill-out page. It is a place to display my other hobbies which are non-action-figure related. Hope you enjoy my 'off-duty' topics.
Back-ground information: I have just recently taken up 'ART', though it is something I've known was there for sometime, I just haven't had the time to do anything about it! So, if I sound a little chuffed with my pictures, its because I am. We've been so busy doing the shows, and other projects, that our feet never touch the ground, so I joined an art group where I can paint a couple of ours a week... ahh, very relaxing... This is the very first oil painting I tackled, the image was taken from a photograph. Its a bit rough round the edges but on the whole I think its a good attempt. |
A bit rough but not a bad attempt, I'm not that good with landscapes. This is my first attempt at using a pallet knife. |
Now this one I am really chuffed with! This was produced in the last year and was one of my first paintings after I decided to 'take time out' to paint. I will be producing some limited edition prints off this one, email me if you would like to purchase one. |

A doodle in coloured pencils, not bad I guess. Taken from a photograph. |
I love the detail of the bramble that the mouse is tucking into. |

This is another recent painting that I am very chuffed with. I will be producing limited edition prints off this one. Email me for details. |

The photo just doesn't do this one any favours, its much better in real life. Of course, oil paintings are best appreciated from a distance, always bear that in mind. However, this one remains one of my favourites. |
Again, this one is much better in real life. You can see an earlier version in pastels just below this one. |
This was my very first attempt at using pastels, I am very pleased with the results. |
I just love to sketch! |
Elephant in pastels, not one of my best, it looks much better in real life and the poor photo in bad light doesn't do it any favours. It'll pass as a practice piece, and I'm sure the more I practice, the more I will improve. |

One of the biggest compliments I could have gotten was from one of my friends who saw this and said "That's a David Shepherd"! And she was right! I'd copied this from one of his pictures in his book which I got for Christmas off Dave. |
Long Earred Owl in pencil. Taken from a photograph, this photo doesn't do the sketch justice, I'm really chuffed with this one. |
Jungle Tiger in pencil crayons, its very difficult to gain any kind of effect using crayons. This started out as a really good sketch till I added some colour and kinda trashed it! |
King Fisher in pencil crayons. |

Severe weather seems to be happening all-over the world, this storm was right on my door step literally. This strike is just 10 yards away from me! |
Crazy storm in June 2005, this strike is just above my head! |
Although you can't see it, this was my first piece of 'modern' art in oils, painted on a box canvas where the picture wraps round all four sides! |
This was a practice piece for mixing colours, very Turner'esk!! |
Swan in Oils, by far my best piece in 2005. |
Di in her WRNS officers uniform, Dave in RAF 2006. |

Dave and I just after an air raid (2005)! |

Me and Dave, WWII sweet-hearts (2006). |

Pickering War Time Weekend 2004. Parades, exhibitions, singing in the streets and getting your picture in the local paper! |
If you're not dressed up in WWII costume, you just won't fit in! Parades, exhibitions, singing in the streets! The Sir Nigel Gresley steam engine in the background, it was our mode of transport for the weekend... WOW!

This is my latest picture, its a Peregrine Falcon in Oils. As always, it looks better in real-life, but its certainly one I'm very pleased with. April 06.
I've just finished these Emperor Penguins in Oils. I loved the photo, I think its a very touching scene from these brilliant creatures!
Hope you like this Snowboarder... in oils...
